Cordell Public Schools is proud to announce that Aaron Edge, Director of the Pride of Cordell, Blue Devil Band, has been named the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OkMEA) Outstanding Young Music Educator for 2024. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional contributions to music education in Oklahoma and highlights Mr. Edge’s commitment to nurturing young musicians in the community.
Currently in his fifth year as the Band Director at Cordell Schools, Mr. Edge has led the Pride of Cordell to continued success, fostering a culture of excellence in musicianship and discipline. Under his direction, the Blue Devil Band has garnered multiple accolades, reinforcing the district’s strong tradition of high-level music education. His dedication to promoting growth and a love for music among students has earned him widespread recognition among his peers.

Mr. Edge will be formally honored at the OkMEA Annual Conference in Tulsa, scheduled for January 2025, where he will join other outstanding educators from across the state in celebrating the power of music education.
